THE ROTUNDA
In a Nutshell...
The devil may wear Prada, but the shopping angels dine here on this halo of a restaurant floating under the stained glass dome of the Neiman Marcus department store. From the top level they get a wonderful view of Union Square and the shoppers below. It is the perfect first-class place to retire for awhile from the labors of shopping the neighborhood's high-end boutiques and department stores. Have lunch with pink champagne or mid-afternoon tea with scones, or better yet, with their famous popovers served with strawberry butter. The food? Exquisite. The service? Top notch. Pricey? But of course.
Pros:
- The food
- The location
- The ambiance
Cons:
- Eventually one must leave and return to the real world
