EXPLORATORIUM

In a Nutshell...
Behind the giant dome of the Palace of Fine Arts is an enormous exhibit hall leftover from the Panama-Pacific International Exposition of 1915. Inside is the Exploratorium, San Francisco’s popular hands-on science museum, dedicated to the joy of discovery. Although it is constantly changing, at any one time there will be more than 400 exhibits with which to interact and to explore. Most have a decidedly hand-made quality, which reinforces the spirit of the place that science is not just the property of a priesthood of professionals but is open to anyone with a curious mind.
